‘Mind-blowing acrobatic climbing antics.’ - De Volkskrant
With The Future is not what it used to be, choreographer Pia Meuthen and her performers create a physical and sensory performance about the mystery that is time. They show our desire to create cohesiveness in a fragmented world, to not lose the past, to get a grip on the future, and to lose ourselves in the moment.
Meuthen’s work literally moves up in the air in this performance, with a movement language that combines strength and vulnerability and evokes a physical sensation. -|-You can feel the impact of the movements. The company interweaves dance, acrobatics and live music into an enthralling mix. The movements are propelled by a new, exciting composition by house composers Strijbos & Van Rijswijk in collaboration with musician and performer Davide Bellotta.
The Future is not what it used to be is an ode to the uncertain and unfinished, to the emerging and not yet determined.
