We're hiring!

Receptionist (casual)
Do you enjoy giving visitors a warm welcome, answering their questions and making sure everything runs smoothly? Are you good at handling incidents, and available for varying shifts? Then you are the receptionist we are looking for.
We are looking for a colleague who brings enthusiasm and initiative to our team. Whatever your background, if you recognise yourself in this description, we would like to hear from you.
We are ITA
At ITA we take great pleasure in working with talented, committed and open-minded colleagues who enjoy a creative environment that keeps changing. We also want to be a diverse and inclusive organisation: one that makes room for everyone who sees the strength that diversity among colleagues brings, and puts it to work in achieving better results.

What will you be doing?
As a receptionist you are the central point of contact and the face of our organisation. You give guests a warm welcome, answer calls and provide information in a friendly, professional manner. You also keep an overview of everything else: from taking in deliveries and managing keys to keeping the logbook up to date so your colleagues can pick up where you left off. And you play an important part in the safety of our building by monitoring the fire alarm panel, checking access routes and keeping an eye on the cameras.
What do you bring?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has work experience in a similar role
- Has excellent social and communication skills
- Is good at planning and organising
- Is customer-focused and welcoming
- Stays alert to their surroundings and keeps a cool head when dealing with incidents
- Has an excellent command of both Dutch and English
- Is available for evening and weekend shifts
Not sure you meet every requirement? Do apply anyway. We would like to hear your story.
What do we offer?
- A vibrant workplace in the heart of Amsterdam
- A salary in scale III (€2,531 to €3,196 gross per month, based on full-time hours) under the CAO Toneel en Dans, the collective labour agreement for theatre and dance
- Free tickets to our productions
- Your own training budget and career development hours
- The option to exchange public holidays for days that suit your culture or beliefs
Competency-based question
We want to assess everyone fairly and on equal terms. That is why we select on the basis of competencies, so that unconscious preferences carry less weight. All candidates therefore describe the same competency using the STARR method.
This is the question:
As a receptionist you will sometimes have to deal with an incident: something unexpected that calls for quick action — a power cut, say, or a fire alarm. Can you give an example of a situation in which you had to resolve an incident quickly? What happened? How did you approach it, and how was it resolved?

Applying? Here's how it works at ITA
