Artist Hildo Krop (1884-1970)

The stature of the actor Charlotte Köhler might be measured by the makers of her two portraits. Hildo Krop portrayed her as Badeloch, from Gijsbrecht van Amstel, and Herman Gordijn painted the life-size portrait in 1969. Köhler made her debut in the era of Louis Bouwmeester and in later life devoted herself mainly to recitation, an art rarely practised today.
