In 2012, on the television programme “Cash op Zolder”, this portrait of the journalist, actor and society figure Lida Polak was offered to Melle Daamen, director of the Stadsschouwburg. The daughter of the painter Henk Willemse was pleased with the generous offer to give the work a less prominent place, given how slight the connection between Lida Polak and the theatre was.
