Invites pupils to stop and think about the consequences of the culture of overconsumption they are growing up in

Five performers emerge from an enormous mountain of waste and move through a world in which everything is replaceable. Objects, relationships and even identities are thrown away and replaced. In Waste Me they themselves become part of the waste they are trying to survive. Waste Me is a physical, searing reflection on a consumer society that has gone too far. Through repetition, collective patterns and raw physical imagery, Cecilia Moisio and her performers explore a world in which consumption determines not only what we own, but also how we think, how we love and how we relate to one another. 

The production moves between utopia and collapse. The performers search for a way out of a prison of their own making: collecting, replacing and discarding. What is left when everything, people included, has become replaceable?
