Premiere The Copenhagen Trilogy

Yesterday, ITA’s The Copenhagen Trilogy, directed by Eline Arbo, celebrated its opening night at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam. Together with the cast, crew and guests, we celebrated Tove Ditlevsen’s world coming to life on stage.
In The Copenhagen Trilogy, Eline Arbo brings together Ditlevsen’s autobiographical novels Childhood, Youth and Dependency in a single production. We follow Tove from her childhood in a working-class neighbourhood in Copenhagen through the different stages of her life, driven by her desire to become a writer. Her ambition and artistry remain at the heart of the story, alongside themes of love, motherhood, class, addiction and the price she pays to become who she wants to be.
After months of rehearsals, Tuesday evening finally marked the moment to share the production with an audience. Before and after the performance, the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam was immersed in the world of Tove Ditlevsen, with touches of pink, festive opening-night looks and a dedicated Tove fan shop featuring books and merchandise from publisher Das Mag.
We look back on a very special evening with great pleasure.
The Copenhagen Trilogy is now on stage.
