Maria Kraakman

Kraakman graduated from the Arnhemse Toneelschool in 1998. Her stage career quickly took off, with productions at Art & Pro, where she appeared in Ivanov and Diskoobigge under the direction of Frans Strijards; Eline Vere at the Nationale Toneel; and the solo performance Anoniem by Nataliya Golofastova (Productiehuis Rotterdam), which won her a Gouden Kniertje in 2009. After Rainer Maria and Alma at De Warme Winkel, After Rainer Maria and Alma at De Warme Winkel came her years at Toneelgroep Oostpool, where she appeared in Zomergasten, Hamlet and Tramlijn Begeerte., where she appeared in Zomergasten, Hamlet and Tramlijn Begeerte. In 2010 Kraakman won the Theo d'Or for her role in Orlando.

As a film actor she has appeared in Îles Flottantes by Nanouk Leopold, Schneider vs. Bax and Theo van Gogh's 06-05, among others. Her understated performance in Guernsey, also directed by Nanouk Leopold, won her the Gouden Kalf for Best Actress in 2005. This was followed by films including My queen Karo, Hunting & Zn. (for which she co-wrote the screenplay) and De bende van Oss. On television she has appeared in series such as Medea, Ernstige delicten and Keyzer & De Boer Advocaten, and played one of the leading roles in the series Koppels.
