Glen Faria grew up in the city, shaped by a strong mother, family, friends and the raw energy of his neighbourhood. From his father he received an imaginary box filled with lessons about how a “man” is supposed to be. When his own son reaches adulthood, he decides to open that box again.

In MAN, Glen Faria explores what masculinity means when you choose not to pass it on unquestioningly. Together with the ZO! Gospel Choir, he takes the audience through memories, choices and moments that shaped him as a son, father and man.
The performance moves between music and theatre, driven by the fast-paced, energetic direction of Priscilla Vaudelle. What begins as a personal search grows into a broader story about upbringing, identity and what we leave behind for the next generation.

About Glen Faria
Glen Faria is a performer, songwriter and theatre maker. As a former member of the hip-hop group Flinke Namen, he has developed into a versatile artist at the intersection of music and theatre. Among other things, he wrote the hit ‘Duurt Te Lang’, made famous by Davina Michelle, and ‘Zij Weet Het’, which was released first by himself and later successfully by Tino Martin. He also gained national recognition through his appearance on Beste Zangers.
Faria has previously collaborated with various theatre companies and creators and has strong ties to both the music and theatre worlds. In his performances, he consciously seeks out the point where the two reinforce each other: honest, raw and intimate.
About Priscilla Vaudelle
Priscilla Vaudelle is a director, writer and storyteller. Drawing on her love of hip-hop, R&B and storytelling, she creates musical theatre centred on representation, encounter and connection. Her production Black Joy was selected for the Dutch Theatre Festival, where performer Samantha Cherish Wielkens received a nomination for the Louis d’Or.
With MAN, Vaudelle has teamed up with Glen Faria to create a personal theatre concert in which music and vulnerability come together in an honest conversation about what it means to be human.
