SECUNDARY EDUCATION
Being an artist is about genuine curiosity, seeing different perspectives and making connections. Secondary school students can learn to shape their individuality and social context through arts. We would love to hear how we can support you with your curriculum through our performances, workshops, tours and educational materials. Come think, dare, dream and do with us!
Shakespeare Tour
In this fully English spoken program, you will be guided through our impressive building, and you will be introduced to theater icon Shakespeare. Upon arrival, we invite you to step into the shoes of the great writer and to think along with us about the content of the pieces that have been or must be written. You will be introduced to the historical context of Shakespeare, but you will also look for the meaning of his plays in the here and now.
The tour focuses on some of Shakespeare's most famous plays worldwide, which you will get to know in a variety of ways, in theme and content as well as language and writing style. This program is suitable for students in art subjects and for English because both performers and students only speak English in this program!
MAAK-workshop
MAAK sparks students into action by encouraging them to explore both themselves and the world they live in through inquisitive investigation. During a MAAK workshop, we come together to create, play, write and philosophise. Anything that is necessary to give shape to findings, allowing them to communicate with others. It is not about learning technical skills, but about personal development and the experience. A MAAK workshop may end in a final presentation, but may also remain just an exploration. ITA's art teacher will be the inspirer and guide of the pupils' creative process.
In the junior grades, we relate to the themes from the guided tours and performances. In the senior grades, we focus on the five themes from the video series Theatre in Context. It is also possible to create a tailor-made MAAK for your school or for a specific performance. Come and experience it!
THEATRE AND DANCE
ITA offers a selection of theatre and dance performances that connect to the perceptions of young audiences. This includes both in-house productions (ITA jr. and ITA Ensemble performances) and interesting and challenging theatre and dance programming by (inter)national companies. Our ITA Ensemble-productions are surtitled in English on Thursdays.

DANCE PERFORMANCES
PERFORM IN AN ORIGINAL ITA SCENOGRAPHY
Have you always wanted to perform on ITA's prestigious and international stage? Now you can! Schools have the opportunity to perform their own version of a show in the original stage setting of an ITA production, using our magnificent sets and beautifully designed lighting. The play will be rehearsed during drama class at school. An ITA actor will come by during rehearsal to give acting tips. You will receive technical and production support from ITA and, to close things off, students will attend the original ITA performance.
