How can you let the audience participate in a choreography? With the dance performance INVITED, Seppe Baeyens is trying to answer this question. With dance as a common language he seeks an alternative way of living together and thus establishing a community with dancers and audiences.

Grote Zaal:

Duration 1h

“The way in which the makers involve their audience in the action makes the performance ground-breaking.” - Knack

Since 2011, dancer and choreographer Seppe Baeyens is closely connected to Ultima Vez. Under the wings of the company of Wim Vandekeybus, he created his first large-scale dance performance Tornar in 2015 with an intergenerational cast of non-professional and professional dancers. Tornar won a lot of praise at home and abroad and was selected for Het Theaterfestival 2015. Now we show his latest work: INVITED

INVITED consists of a diverse group of performers from different generations that reflects the society of today. Thanks to the decor, a blue, woven rope sixty metres long that winds across the stage, the distance between audience and players is reduced: the audience plays an active role and gets the chance to take matters into their own hands.

A performance for young and old.

From the press

“An impressive experience” - De Standaard

“Go and see it! Or better: join in!”" – De Morgen

“Ultima Vez lets audience and performers merge into one group” - VRT

Lieve Stad,
