A young writer tries to make her voice heard with her first play, while the older generation holds on to what is familiar. One wants to innovate, the other to preserve, and in between friction begins to build.

Meeuw shows how difficult it is to break free from expectations, especially when those who came before you continue to set the rules. At the same time, there is humour and lightness in people’s inability to truly understand one another.
With a gender-swapped cast and a direct, contemporary performance style, Nina Spijkers turns this classic into a vivid and актуal production, in which the characters feel strikingly close and recognisable.
