Tommy Wieringa and Jaap Scholten are deeply moved by the country’s drive for freedom. Through their charity, Protect Ukraine, they have already raised nearly 30 million euros and sent fifty aid convoys, comprising off-road vehicles and life-saving supplies, to the front line.
Through personal stories and poignant images, Wieringa and Scholten reveal the surreal nature of daily life here and the deadly front there – just a day’s drive apart.
Ukraine is fighting not only for its own survival but also for ours, here in Europe. In the short term, the country desperately needs Europe; in the long term, it is the other way round. Following America’s betrayal, Europe stands alone, and Ukraine represents a powerful security guarantee for the future. It is now up to us. How can we, even as individuals, take action?
