HEAT
What does heat sound like? Heat shimmers, it creaks and vibrates. In the sweltering performance HEAT, theatre-maker Davy Pieters wonders how we deal with heat, in ourselves and around us.

HEAT
In HEAT, Davy Pieters shows the complexity of intergenerational dynamics. Relationships are in tension, and deep-seated behaviour becomes visible. Memories and associations intrude on the surface. What happens when we avert our gaze from that which is hot? Is it possible to turn away from the world you live in and the legacy you carry with you?
Davy Pieters is creating HEAT for the main stage. The performers are supported by a large choir, which, in a setting of monumental proportions, voices the heat and creates a sea of sound.

After CRISPR and Not All Is Lost, HEAT is Pieters' third performance about growing up in a future world. Pieters is known for her powerful visual language in which performance, scenography and soundscapes constantly reinforce each other. In her work, Pieters explores human hope and resilience within collective fears. How can we connect more with the people around us and the world we live in?
