In Meiden & Prinsen, stories from De Meisjes by Annet Schaap are brought to life in a large-scale theatre production by Het Filiaal theatermakers. The adaptation by Don Duyns brings together a world of familiar fairy tale figures and contemporary desires.

Girls, princes, animals and parents collide in stories where nothing unfolds as smoothly as in fairy tales. Behind the fantasy lies a reality in which expectations, power and desire are constantly shifting.

The performance connects the rich storytelling world of Annet Schaap with live music by Gábor Tarján and the Dutch Bach Society. Music, text and performance merge into a production in which the inner world of the characters becomes audible and tangible.
