Sur(render)
After the success of Closed Eyes, theater-maker and choreographer Alida Dors returns with her dancers and the band HAYP to create a powerful new chapter. With (Sur)render, Dors invites us on a journey toward a ‘new us.’ This immersive performance weaves together hypnotic dance, electrifying music, rhythmic poetry, and stunning video art by acclaimed artist Geert Mul. (Sur)render is a bold call to action: to move together, to rediscover a shared frequency. The question is, can we find a way to dance as one?

(Sur)Render
It’s an age-old truth: nature endures, while humanity often drifts apart—only to find its way back together again. But now, the urgency to reconnect, to redefine what it means to be human, feels more critical than ever. In (Sur)render, Dors explores this ‘new us’ with seven world-class dancers, including the jaw-dropping Krumper Mark Brui5er and returning favorite Dylan Kuyper (from Closed Eyes).

Letting go of what feels safe, the journey takes us through surreal landscapes of the mind, leading to unexpected destinations. Who dares to descend into their own depths and embrace new possibilities? Who’s willing to surrender to the rhythm of nature?
Alida Dors about (Sur)render
“I believe our current view of humanity is bankrupt. The unnatural systems we’ve built keep grinding away, leaving us burned out, exhausted, and disconnected—from each other and from the world around us. It’s like a machine that keeps running, even though it’s breaking down. But it’s not too late. (Sur)render is about yielding to a ‘new us,’ recognizing our deep dependence on each other and on nature.”
